Modified on Thu, 7 Mar at 10:24 AM

This document explains how to set up WiFi on a SINGLE Agartee Connectivity Modem.

Please ensure only one modem is plugged in during set-up. If you have multiple Agartee Connectivity Modems and you want to set up WiFi on them, you need to repeat the process for every one of them.

Some tips prior to try to set the Arwen (Gen1) modems up:

 - Set one modem at a time (plug in only one modem, unplug all other modems)
 - Forget all of the devices from phone's Bluetooth setting
 - Turn ON/OFF Bluetooth and WiFi from your phone's setting
 - Log out from the Agartee App

When you do all the above, plug in the modem, wait for a minute for the modem to boot up, connect to the modem in phone's Bluetooth and log in to the Agartee App.

    3.    Set up a new WiFi for your Connectivity Modem

3.1 Discover newly powered on modem

Once you go back to the app, it may say still be connecting, or it may say "Modem found!". If instead it says "Arwen Modem not found", make sure the modem is connected through Bluetooth. You can also try turning off and on your iPhone's WiFi before checking the app again. If the problem persists, restart the modem by unplugging it and then redo Step 2 until you see Picture-16: new modem connected.

When the icon pastedGraphic_25.png is showing up on the iPhone's top corner, if you don’t see “Modem found” message, then tap the pastedGraphic_26.png button until you see a “Modem Found!” message like picture-20a, 20b, or 20c below.

3.2 Choose destination Home

Then tap on the home that this modem will be assigned to. If you don't see the home in this list, they may need to authorize Agartee in their PointClickCare software.

Tap on a network in this list (only secure networks are supported) to connect the modem to it.

  • If this is the first modem you're connecting to this network, you'll need to enter in the WiFi password and then tap Connect (picture-25)

   Picture-25: Enter WiFi password

  • If this is not the first modem you're connecting to this network, it will remember the password from the last time. If for some reason two homes have the same SSID (WiFi name) but different passwords, or a home changes their WiFi password, press the (i) button and then "forget password"; then go back and try connecting again. You should then be able to type in the new password.

It may take a minute to connect and test the WiFi connection. If it succeeds, you will see a message like picture-26 below, and this modem is now finished setup. Press "Next Modem" if you have more another modem to set up. This will take you back to step 1.2 d)

Picture-26: Setup complete

However, you may see an error message (picture-27), if the WiFi password you entered is incorrect, or the network is not in range. You may want to double-check the password and try again.

After going back to the main screen, it is now safe to unplug the modem.

3.5 (Optional) Sign out of App

If you have no more modems to set up, you can press "exit" in the corner, and then "sign out" to sign out of the app.
